Deputy Resident District commissioner Kagadi Benjamin Tumusiime has urged residents of Mabaale Town council Kagadi District to embrace community development as a way of ownership of government programs.
Benjamin was addressing residents and other stakeholders during the launching for the rehabilitation of 11km Mabaale-Kyamasega road worth 75 Million (Seventy Five million shillings) at Mabaale town council headquarters.
He added that government projects are meant to benefit the local person hence ensuring service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of Residents the Area Male councilor Peter Sebugwawo said the road will help residents in accessing market for their agricultural products including Rice, Maize, Cassava, Banana among others.
On behalf of the Chief Administrative officer Edward Bisangabasaija said the launching exercise is part of accountability of public funds to tax payers.
The LCV Chairperson Kagadi Ndibwami B Yosia said that he drafted a proposal to UNRA for to tarmacking 19km in Paachwa, Mabaale,Kyenzige and Muhorro twon councils and UNRA has finalized the environmental impact assessment report.
The exercise was graced by the Deputy RDC, Representative of the Woman Member of Parliament, Representative of the Buyaga East MP, LCV Chairperson, DCAO, District Executive Committee members, local leaders and community members.
