Enabel (the Belgian Development Agency) through the program dubbed “access to health care through saving for health” has today donated 5 motorcycles to 5Village Savings and Loan Associations in Kyenzige and Kiryanga sub counties in Kagadi District.
Enabel actively trains and supports community groups to set up dedicated health emergency funds with members saving small amounts to provide interest free loans for medical emergencies.
Among the beneficiary associations include Abeteraina farmers group, Tweyambe Farmers group, Kyabikamba motherland cartering group from Kiryanga and Nyabuhike womens group, Itahiro women group from Kyenzige Sub County.
The handover function which was held today at the Kagadi District Headquarters in Kagadi Town council, Kagadi District was presided over by the Deputy Resident District commissioner Kagadi Jeremy Namanya and attended by the Secretary for production, Trade and Natural Resources Ataho Balisanyuka and the Princpal Assistant Secretary Edward Bisangabasaija among other.
Jeremy Namanya the Deputy Resident District Commissioner Kagadi urged beneficiary to use the motorcycles for their intended purposes.
According to Sharon the Social protection expert Enabel says the project focuses on enhancing community mobility, health access, and economic growth for hard-to-reach communities in Kiryanga and Kyenzige Sub counties.
