Kagadi District leadership hands over site for construction of Bugwara and Kabamba water projects. 

Government has today launched the construction of a solar powered piped water project in the sub-counties of Kicucura and Kabamba, Buyaga East Kagadi district with funding from the World Bank.

The project will cost 4.2 Bn shillings and the construction works undertaken by Global Applied Technologies Consult Limited (GAT) will last for 12 months.

The officials from the Ministry of Water and Environment first held a meeting with stakeholders and contractor Global Applied Technologies Consult Limited (GAT) at Kagadi district council hall,before heading to construction sites in Kabamba and Kicucura Sub-Counties for the launch.

Ziraba Peter the Ssecretary for Health and Education urged the contractors to cooperate with the local leaders and the community if they are to make their work a success.

James Sseguya an Engineer from Ministry of water and Environment highlighted that the project in Bugwara will cover most villages whereas in Kabamba it will benefit 4 villages

He urges the leaders to support the engineers and asked residents to give them access to their work sites.

Leonard Mugisa the representative of the contractor explained that they are ready to start works 06th Dec 2024 as per commencement letter.
