61 Youth Recruited into UPDF in Kagadi as 13 Arrested Over Fake Papers

A total of 61 youth from Kagadi District were recruited into the Uganda People’s Defence Force an exercise which was held at Kagadi District headquarters.

During scrutiny 13 were arrested and handed over to Police on allegations of submitting fake academic papers.

Captain Wilson Kato Agaba, the Public Relations Officer for UPDF Recruitment Team Five in charge of the Bunyoro Sub-region, confirmed the development

Out of 88 candidates shortlisted, 78 turned up for the recruitment. Of these, 61 successfully passed medical examinations and presented valid academic credentials, including only four females.

Thirteen were arrested for presenting forged academic documents, two were disqualified due to ringworm infections, and another two were found to be above the required age limit

Captain Wilson commended the overall health of Kagadi’s youth, noting that most were free from serious illnesses such as HIV/Aids.

He encouraged those who did not succeed to prepare and apply again in the next recruitment phase.

Meanwhile, Kagadi Resident District Commissioner Caroline Nashemeza Muyambi applauded the youth for their interest in serving under the NRM government.

She urged the new recruits to maintain discipline and commitment in their military careers.
