The State Minister of Public service Mary Grace Mugasa who doubles as the Chief Campaign Manager NRM Bunyoro Sub region has today held a massive campaign rally at Kamina landing site in Ndaiga Sub County Kagadi District in preparation for the forthcoming National elections 2026.
Mugasa was accompanied by the UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Major General Leopold Eric Kyanda who is also the Deputy Cluster commander Bunyoro Sub region.
The District Chairperson Kagadi Ndibwami B Yosia highlighted the pressing needs affecting Ndaiga subcounty which including tarmacking of Muhooro-Ndaiga road, upgrading of Ndaiga HCII to HCIII, Construction of Ndaiga Seed secondary school among others.
Mugasa assured Local Government leaders and stakeholders that the NRM government is committed to support local governments in order to achieve 2040 agenda through improved service delivery to the people.
She further warned that the use of illegal fishing practices like illegal nets, smuggling of immature fish continue to endanger Uganda’s aquatic resources.
The UPDF joint of staff Maj General leopold Kyanda has vowed to address persistent challenges being faced by fishing communities ranging from constant attacks from Congolese militias, corruption, lack of alternative sources of income, illegal fishing among other.
He added that peace and security will foster development in the region.
The meeting was attended by Various stakeholders including Lt. Col. Mercy Tukahirwa the commander Fisheries Protection Unit, Member of Parliament Buyaga West Barnabas Tinkasimire, RDC Kagadi Carolyn Kashaija Nashemeza, DISO Mwiranda Wilson Principal Fisheries Officer Kagadi Gwazo Francis among others.
