A total of 50.070,458,000 Draft Budget Estimates, Annual work plan and other mandatory policy Documents for Kagadi District Local Government for FY 2026-2027, have been laid before Kagadi District council for further scrutiny and review.
The draft budget highlighted key areas in infrastructure, education, agriculture, and healthcare among others.
The motion was presented by the Secretary for Finance, Planning, Administration and investment Magezi Jamadah Francis during a council sitting held today 24th /03/2026 at JW Kate Hotel Conference Center in Kagadi Town Council.
The Council Sitting was presided over by Rt.Hon.Magezi Muwonge the District Speaker.
Upon review and scrutiny, the draft budget will be approved in the subsequent council sitting scheduled for 7th/May 2026.
Other mandatory documents laid before council included Revenue enhancement Plan, Recruitment Plan, Capacity Building Plan, Procurement and Disposal Plan, Operations and Maintenance Plan, Disaster Preparedness plan.
Vincent Kyaligonza the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Kagadi urged political leaders in the district to support the government in sensitising the public about the operations of the PDM programme and the need to ensure its effectiveness as a revolving fund.
He added that Parish Development Model (PDM) loans begin expiring, marking the start of the recovery phase for funds disbursed and urged beneficiaries to repay the funds to keep the revolving fund active.
In his address the District Chairperson Ndibwami B Yosia informed members that there has been a steady progress in project implementation for FY 2025-2026.
He further said the district has developed a plan to commission and handover all complete projects for community use.
