Kagadi District leadership commissions 4 projects under Education worth 588 million shillings.

Kagadi District leadership has commissioned 4 projects under Education Department worth 588 million shillings under the School Facilities Grant (SFG) constructed in FY 2025/2026.

The projects include construction of two classroom block, a staffroom and water tank of 5000 litres, and a five stance VIP Latrine at Ngara, Rwendahi, St Paul Nyamigisa and Igwanjura primary schools in Kagadi District.

The construction of two classroom block, a staffroom and water tank of 5000 litres costed a total of 115million shillings while 5 stance VIP latrine costed a total of 32 million at each of the four-government aided primary schools.

The Deputy Resident District Commissioner Kagadi Jeremy Namanya while addressing the public urged school headteachers to desist from charging schools fees for UPE and USE programs since it undermines the government policy.

He further noted that the act undermines the core objective of providing free, accessible education for all, particularly for children from low-income families, increase School Dropouts.

Epodoi Pauline Opio the Chief Administrative Officer urged stakeholder in ensuring community participation during the process of project implementation to ensure sustainability, foster a sense of ownership, and align projects with actual community needs.

The District Chairperson Ndibwami B Yosia cautioned school management on ensuring operation and maintenance of government projects to maximize asset lifespan, and safety

Ngara Primary school located in Kyanaisoke was contracted to Karukana Enterprises LTD, Igwanjura Primary school to Shapam Holding Ltd, Rwendahi Primary school to Sasali Contractors Ltd while St Paul Nyamigisa Primary school contracted to Krut investment U Ltd.

School management committees, PTA members Teachers, Parents expressed gratitude and pledged to uplift education standards in the district through fulfilling their obligation as far as child education is concerned 

The function was attended by District Speaker Muwonge Magezi, District Executive committee members, Ag District Engineer Bukenya Robert, Ag District Education Officer Beatrice Mbabazi, PTA, SMC, Media, Parents and community members.
