Ministry of Bunyoro Affairs donatesĀ  500 iron sheets,35 sewing machines to Kagadi District

The State Minister for Bunyoro Affairs Jenipher Namuyangu has commissioned the distribution of 500 iron sheets and 35 sewing machines to 19 groups to different beneficiaries in Kagadi District.

The function which was graced by the Retired Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese  Nathan Kyamanywa and the district leadership was today held in the District council hall at the District headquarters in Kagadi town council.

Among the beneficiary schools include Bwikara SSS which has been allocated 200 iron sheets, Kihemba Primary school 100 iron sheets while Bishop Kyamanwa Senior secondary school has been allocated 200 iron sheets.

In the same development Go Green Nursey bed and Twimukye Womens group Nursey bed in Kyenzige and Burora sub counties respectively received 18m in a bid to boost their financial capacities  

Namuyangu says that initiative aims at boosting the economy by increasing prosperity, reducing poverty, and improving quality of life by enhancing household income among the people of Kagadi.

She added that Bunyoro Affairs will keep supplementing the Presidential Zonal Industrial hub initiative by supporting several micro projects aimed at improving homestead income generation in the region.

The Chief Administrative Officer Kagadi Epodoi Pauline Opio highlighted that the district has since 2020 received 206m benefiting 70 groups, 2300 iron sheets to 15 schools and 7 churches, 20 heifers from Office of Prime Minister (OPM), under the Ministry of Bunyoro Affairs.

Pauline added that the program has accelerated development through eradication of poverty among the youth, reduction in crime and created employment opportunities to beneficiary groups

The District Chairperson Ndibwami B Yosia stressed the need for affirmative action to Kagadi district in terms of resource allocation given its size and population.
