Kagadi District council has today approved budget estimates, workplan and mandatory documents for Kagadi DLG for FY 2022/2023 worth 45 Billion.
The motion was tabled before the council by the secretary of Finance, planning, Administration and Investment Betonda Rameul during a council meeting held at the community hall.
According to the budget estimates the Education department takes the lions share with 17b(39.9%), Health, 12.7B(28.3%), Administration 5.6B(12.5%) Production and Marketing 3.1B(7.1%), Roads and Engineering 1.6B(3.7%), Statuary Bodies 1.3B(3.1%), Community Based Services 1B(1.1%)Water 948m(2.1%), Finance 473m(1.1%), Planning 188m(0.4%), Internal Audit 62m(0.1%), Trade Industry and development 51m(0.1%).
According to the budget, Central government transfers which comprise of Discretionary government transfers shall contribute 20% of the total budget, while conditional government transfers shall contribute 70%, whereas other government transfers, local revenue, and donor funding shall contribute 2%,2%, and 6% respectively.
During the council meeting, other mandatory documents including capacity Building, recruitment plan, Revenue Enhancement plan, Annual work plan, Procurement plan, operations and maintenance plan and Disaster Preparedness pan were passed.

While addressing council the Chief Administrative Officer Kagadi Mathias Ndifuna appealed to different stakeholders especially members of Parliament to lobby for more funds since most of theĀ 45 billion budget approvedĀ by council today goes to salary payments.
The Woman Members of Parliament Jennifer Kyomuhendo Mbabazi, Buyaga East MP Musana Eric Acaali, RDC Kagadi Kamukama Nicholas, LCIII Chairperson, Media, the general public attended the session.
