His bodyguard Tim Bosco aged 25 years acholi by tribe a police officer attached to Hoima cps also died on spot.

According to Asp Lokut Julius OC traffic Kiboga, It’s alleged that MV UBB 059Z was travelling from Kampala heading to Kiboga side being driven yet to be identified driver on reaching Mataagi bridge he tried to dodge a pothole and MV swerved off from its Lane MV UAH 053Q which was heading to Kampala from Hoima and was being driven by KIRUNGI KADIRI making head on collision and died on spot.
Officials from the Ministry of Water and Environment (Lead Agency), Uganda Wildlife Authority and National Forest Authority and World Bank as key funder made courtesy visit on follow-up on the progress on the implementation of Investing in Forests and protected areas for Climate Smart Development (IFPA-CD) Project in Kagadi District.
A stakeholder’s engagement comprising of District technical and political leaders, representatives from Kitara Civil society organization (KCSON), World wide fund for Nature, NFA as key partners implementing Environmental restoration programs in the District was held in the council Hall at Kagadi District Headquarter.
The project aims at promoting sustainable management of forests and protected areas for increased benefits to communities from forests in the Albertine Rift for eradication of increased vulnerability of economic productivity, biodiversity and livelihoods to climate change effects due to declining forestry ecosystems goods and services.
Bob Kazungu, officer in charge of forestry assessment from the ministry of water and environment says the project is aimed at sensitizing community to engage in agro forestry as an alternative source of fuel to save forests.
Kazungu says through the support of the World Bank, corroborative forest management groups will be formed in areas adjacent to forests so as to enhance tourism.
Nicolas Kamukama the Resident district commissioner Kagadi has challenged World Bank together with the National forestry authority to set strong laws that restrict people from encroaching on the Forests
Vanis Mirembe, from wild wildlife authority urges the community to adhere with a campaign of restoring the forests so as to bring back the habitat of Dangerous wild animals like the Chimpanzee which normally terrorize people.
She says the restoration of forest cover will enable the Chimpanzees to live in one place which will even bring about tourism.
The state minister for Public service Mary Grace Mugasa Akiiki has tasked leaders in Kagadi to mobilize residents to acquire land title to avoid illegal land eviction from absentee land lords.
Mugasa made the revelation while meeting stakeholders in the district council hall during monitoring the progress of service delivery in the key sectors of Health, Roads, lands, education and Parish Development Modal implementation in the district.
She warned Area land committee and chairperson LCIs against conniving with land grabbers to effect illegal land evictions and urged residents to utilize “Kyapa Loan” a fund allocated by the government aimed at helping residents acquire land titles.
During the meeting with the minister, the technical team implementing the government program aimed at alleviating Ugandans out of poverty assured the minister that the funds will be disbursed to all eligible groups in the course of this month.
The minister urged residents to embrace the PDM program to get out of poverty.
Mugasa says the government first delivered 25M shs to every parish piloting and assessing the efficiency of the program and that now the government will disburse 100Mshs to every parish to push Ugandans into the money economy.
The Hon Minister tasked the district focal person to start rolling out the program to the groups and SACCOs who have hit the guidelines.
The Kagadi district Commercial Officer Peter Kusemererwa explains that the district has 1955 enterprise groups with 151 SACCOs and 35,701 members and the district has so far received 365,000,000shs.
Kusemerwa says the leaders of the groups have been trained and will soon access funds on their accounts.

NRM Liberation Day in Uganda is celebrated on January 26th each year. The 2023 NRM Liberation day was hosted by Kakumiro District.
The public holiday commemorates the date in 1986 when the NRM/NRA took over. Since then under the leadership of H.E President Museveni, Uganda has had a growing economy, improved infrastructure and stable political leadership.
In a bid to increase water coverage in Kagadi, the district leadership has launched the construction of 12 boreholes in the District for FY 2022/2023 worth 263,942,400 Shillings.
The launching exercise was held at one of the drilling sites in Kaitemba LCI Mabaale Sub county Kagadi District
The 12 projects are located in villages of Kijagi, Karalike, Kimanya A, Kigwabya, Muzizi Ps, Nyampindu, Lyanda SDA P/s, Kitugu, Kaitemba Trading Centre, Kiryanjagi, Nyambouzi and Rwemango
According to the Assistant water Engineer Robert Mugume formation and training of water user committees is complete in order to ensure Operation and Maintenance of water sources.
He added that the project contains drilling, casting and installation as per the agreement signed between Kagadi District local government and Dharani the contractor.
While presiding over the launching exercise, Resident District commissioner Kagadi Nicholas Kamukama Kaine urged residents to always own government projects.
On behalf of the Chief Administrative officer, the Principal Assistant Secretary Edward Bisangabasaija urged sub county technical staff to embark on community sensitization on the advantages of clean and safe water.
He further tasked residents to work hard if development is to be realized in their respective areas.

According to the water department statistics, the water coverage percentage stands at 56% sanitation and Hygiene 69% while hand washing stands at 33%.

Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) a semi-autonomous body will be implementing the enumeration exercise of National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) 2024 from 10th May to 19th May 2024 bearing in mind that 9th May will bethe Census Night in accordance with the Uganda Bureau of Statistics Act 1998.
In response to the Census Vacancy Advert that was run on the 1st March 2024, the shortlisted candidates sat for interviews in different clusters (i.e. Mabaale, Bwikara and Kagadi) which commenced on 15th to 19th April 2024.

Today the Kagadi district chairperson Hon Ndibwami B Yosia has donated iron sheets to the people of Kiryanga sub county who were hit by heavy hailstorm and wind late 2022. The beneficiaries of the relief were kikonda itambiro, kikonda COU, Nyaisamba catholic church and Nyamiringa men’s SACCO whose places of warship and offices were heavily destroyed respectively each receiving a relief of 20 iron sheets. The relief of iron sheets was received amidst full excitement and jubilations by both the believers and group member. In delivering the relief, Ndibwami was accompanied by Hon Nsungwa Leticia the Kiryanga sub county district councilor and Hon Robert Kwizera the chairman LC3 Kiryanga sub county who commended the chairman LC5 for always being pro people and service centered. Upon receiving the relief, representatives of the beneficiaries were much humbled and appreciative for the timely support to the people in need.

Before the relief a disaster assessment was made by the district disaster management that found need for support after establishing efforts of the locals in reconstructing the destroyed structures which prompted the district chairperson to give iron sheets to support the roofing of the new structures. In his remarks, the district chairperson Hon Ndibwami B Yosia informed beneficiaries the he is committed to providing services and support to all people of Kagadi district as a fulfilment of his manifesto.
The state minister for water and environment Beatrice Anywar has launched forest restoration and carbon absorption project in Albertan lift Valley.
The lunch was held last evening in Nyamarunda Sub County, Kibaale district at Kanaga lc1 in Kagombe forest central reserve with the planting of a tree.
While launching the project that will last for 25years Anywar asked all Ugandans to embrace environmental protection for better tomorrow as they do environmental friendly activities siting bee keeping fish farming among others.
She contributed 500,000sh to the collaborative forestry management teams that is working with world wide fund for nature, national forest authority to restore Kagombe forest central reserve.
The country director for world wide fund for nature funding forest restoration and carbon absorption project in the districts of Kagadi, Kibaale, Kikuube, Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa David Duli revealed that their aim is recover 9000hectares, in Kagombe, Bugoma, Ibambara and Kiticura forests.
Tom Okello Ebongo, the executive director National forest authority revealed that they are in the process of demarcating Kagombe forest central reserve saying boundary re-opening was completed 2018 saying up to now some people are not contented.
Speaking to our reporter some of the collaborative forestry management team member that are working with national forest authority, world wide fund for nature and Kitara civil society organization network to restore the forest revealed that they are happily working towards restoring the forest.
There was excitement and joy among local residents of Rutete town council in Kagadi District as the district leadership launched the construction of a 22km Kiryane-Rutete-Kisura Road worth 100 million.
The project which was launched at Ruteete town council headquarters passes through 6 lower local governments of Kagadi and Ruteete town councils, Galiboleka sub county, Mairirwe Subcounty, Mpeefu Ya Sande town council and Bwikara Sub County.

Kagadi District and its development partners UNICEF, World Vision and Office of the prime Minister have finalized the development of the District disaster Contingency plan with a two day simulation exercise held at the District Headquarters.
A District disaster contingency plan helps the organization to respond in emergencies and un foreseen events like Epidermis, droughts, famine among others.
The journey started in September 2022 with equipping skills and knowledge to district technical and political staff on disaster preparedness and response, in a 4 day training workshop that targeted the District management committee members, Sub-county Disaster management committee from 14 lower local governments which was held at Kalya courts in Fort portal city.
Suzan Birungi Nyakojo, the Emergency Officer for UNICEF Mbarara Zonal office said formulation of the DDMC was aimed at fulfilling the OPM policy for every District to have a District Disaster Contingency plan.
She further cautioned residents to desist from self-medication and always consult medical workers in case of any Health complications
Akollo Mary Helen the disaster Management Manager for world Vision urges the Kagadi disaster management plan team to work hand in hand with other partners to ensure that the district contingency plan is used for disaster preparedness within the district.
Mugisa Peter Sebugwaho the Vice Chairperson Kagadi is optimistic that the District Disaster contingency plan which help the district in fighting disaster outbreaks like Ebola, Cholera, floods among others.
